When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Snowboarder Dies in Avalanche in GrandValira.

Yesterday 25th Dec a female snowboader was caught in an avalanche whilst offpiste, despite rescue efforts she died of her injuries.
I have no further info at the moment.

EDIT,
27 year old from Barcelona, I am being told that 2 hours passed before the group she was with raised the alarm!
It had been snowing gently for most of the night and continued during the day of the 25th along with low cloud.
The area that avalanched was well known to be a potential danger area. The resort notice board was showing avalanche risk 2 when I looked at 10:30 am. which surprised me given the wind and amount of snow that had fallen in the previous days.
