Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Lift Pass Options in different resorts?

 Poster: A snowHead

Many years ago when our boys were small and we did not want to spend maybe much more than an hour or two on the slopes a day, we went to small resorts where lift passes were relatively cheap such as La Faucille in the Jura or to, for example, Megeve where you could buy a a pass that gave you a number of rides up various lifts which you could use over how ever many days you wanted.

The Megeve system would be great for me now because some days I only manage a couple of runs before I have to rest the jolly old knees and hips, it would be great to be able to do a couple in the morning and a couple in the afternoon. This year I have been buying a half day or sometimes 4 hour pass at Les Arcs but that means I may have to get my skiing in at potentially the busiest times of day.

The really tiny resorts are no longer an option for the rest of the family so I wondered if any resorts offer the old Megeve option?

CaravanSkier, I think most resorts offer "points passes" - with little drag lifts costing maybe just 1 point, big chairs costing maybe 8. Les Saisies certainly does. They can last as many days as you want.

I've found a two hour pass works quite well here for people who don't want to do a lot - at busy times of the year, if you start around 12, you can ski through lunchtime when most people are in restaurants, get on your final lift to the top at 2, then not have to grapple with the 2.30pm rush when the ski lessons begin. Out of holiday time it doesn't matter when you ski, it's never busy.

Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

Pretty much everywhere I've skied operates a similar points policy to the above.

Thats interesting thank you. I can`t see an option like that in Les Arcs and could not see one in La Rosiere last year. pam w, When we were at Les Saisies we all wanted max time on the slopes so I guess we did not look for any other options, but that was a few years back and times change!
