Faced with the distinct possibilty that we may not have our new apartment for Christmas, I'm toying with the ides of spending a few days somewhere other than Serre Chevalier between 18th and 22nd. We're driving down on 17th, and hope to stay in NOrthern France the first night. We still need to be in Serre Che by Thurs morning as kids will arrive by sleeper train. Any suggestions?
Oh, and we'll also have our dog, so she will need somewhere to stay too.

Helen Beaumont, If your wanting the best snow I would wait and see as nothing gets fully booked before xmas. If you want a suggestion for somewhere pleasant how about the trying the Haute Maurrienne such as Val Cenis or Bonneval inexpensive and attractive then you can go through the Frejus tunnel over col montgenevre and pick up kids in Briancon.

The resort opens today (if anyone can make it up the hill!), if you fancy ADH it would be lovely to meet you - finally met up with Charlotte the other day after about 6 months of 'breaking dates'!

Helen Beaumont, As T-Bar suggested look at the resorts in the Maurienne, usually very quiet the week before Xmas, so accomodation should be ok. I will be in Val Cenis from the 17th
