Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Ski school for teens in St Anton

 Poster: A snowHead
Poster: A snowHead
Hi all, some advice needed on St Anto ski schools. We're planning a week there in March '14 with my two stepsons aged 15 and 10. They're getting quite good these days - they've done a total of about 4.5 weeks, but the last hol was in Jackson Hole where they progressed at an incredible rate and were happily skiing black diamonds with big steep fluffy moguls and jumping off vertical drops that were giving me pause for thought! However they haven't yet learnt to ski proper powder.

I'm looking for a ski school modelled on the Jackson Hole approach (if anything like this exists in Europe!) with the following characteristics:
- will take kids all day, not just the mornings (so we can do days with Piste to Powder, or head over to Lech etc)
- don't have to commit to the whole week (we do like to ski with them occasionally)
- will push their level, rather than them skiing in a crocodile on the piste all week
- speak English

Any advice or recommendations would be much appreciated!

Arlberg Ski School should do all of that, but if they want to be skiing mainly offpiste you should ask them about their Powder Club options.

Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

Hi there!

I work for Ski School St Anton (Ski School Arlberg) in the winter and we do a whole load of off piste opportunity! If you want your kids pushed its probably a better idea to go private although, saying that, the childrens groups that run do include off piste skiing to the extent that everybody in the group is pushed.

There are not many full english instructors who can take your children off piste however all the instructors speak very good english and most are extremely fun!

Hope I helped Smile
