Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Ski Schools in Les Gets

 Poster: A snowHead
Poster: A snowHead
I have been asked by my boss as to which ski school is "the best" in Les Gets, not having any experience of the resort I am seeking your collective wisdom, Can anybody recommend a ski school in Les Gets?

There will be a few young children looking for group lessons and also a couple of adults that are beginners/early intermidiates that are looking for private tuition.

A quick search of the web has produced

Tim Scott
British Alpine Ski School

and the local tourist office recommended

- École du Ski Français
- École de Ski Internationale Ski Plus
- École de Ski 360 International
- École de Ski Ile des Enfants

Does anyone in here have any experience of any of these schools (be it good or bad...)

Tim Scott was the guy that taught me (and my 2 brothers), but that was when he was a BASS instructor. He as now gone private I understand.
IIRC it was 5 mornings, with afternoons up to us what we did (ie practice what we learned that morning). Group size was small (6 to start with, 1 dropped out, 2 moved to a higher class as they were 2nd weekers, and 1 from Morzine came to join us after a day or so), so it was virtually a private lesson. Certainly better (and worth the money) than having a group of 12-15 playing 'follow my leader' with an instructor that doesn't speak english properly.
I hear that BASS and Tim Scott get booked out quickly.
There's also Alpine Learning Curves, but have no expereince of them. Try adding www and .co.uk for the URL.
Can't comment on the others.

Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

We have used BASS and Ski 360 both of which I can recommend although BASS is quite expensive. some discussion on Les Gets ski schools did come up in this previous thread.

I don't know who's now working in Les Gets for BASS. There used to be a very good couple Fraser and Sandie Gormli there, but I don't know if they still are. A quick look at http://www.britishskischool.com/lesgets.htm didn't give any "team" info.

I've had private lesson at Morzine with BASS, pricey but well worth it.
