Mel is part of the same trip and we definitely fly out Friday. Zwee is Mark's partner (from your recent dinghy course). Shame that we won't coordinate, but there's a group of us (old) girls who go every year so maybe next time.

I have just remembered as a rock climber in the alps when I was 19 doing peaks over 2,500 metres I suffered quite badly from altitude sickness.
Had this happened on the Grande Morre glacier ( which is above 2,500) where we'll be skiing ?
I was wondering if I should start taking anadin on the day before as suggested on this forum? Or even bring some over the counter medication if there is any to be had?
I've been trying to get fit as that apparently can help too.
Any ideas anyone who know the Tignes glacier skiing?

fatbob, I hope those optimistic reports are right but I'm too experienced in the vagaries of snow forecasts to start crowing about it this far out. We might get up there with 2 metres visibility!

Jac Sprat, the skiing is mostly above 3,000m. No idea about altitude sickness but I sometimes notice the altitude for a day or two in terms of having to breath a bit harder.

Thanks rob rob@rar,
From what i read - if you slowly build up to it from a lower altitude - it's better. Are there any lower slopes at all or is it 3000 m straight off?
