Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Hi, does anyone know how much taxis are from cluses train station to Morillon village? Are they readily available or do I need to book, going at half term and there are 13 of us so will probably need several taxis.

You can get quotes on http://www.findtransfers.com from local transfer companies, see what they've got available but you'll probably need 2 minibuses.

Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

I would definitely try and book something - and the roads will be very busy then so could take some time. Taxis on a meter could get expensive.

There is a public bus service. Google can probably find it.

Why are you going to Cluses station? If you are going from GVA airport it will take ages. It may not be too much more, and will be much quicker, if you get a private transfer from GVA. You would need two minibuses. Sat Leman do buses from the airport but with that number of people private is the better route.

Not that many taxis around and they are expensive - around 35 Euros. You can get hold of Taxi David in Samoens on 0033 662 253 943 - he has an 8 seater (unsure of cost for 8 but probably 70 max). There are buses from Cluses (number 94) but not very often and often fairly full with school kids - see http://www.cg74.fr/pages/fr/fiches-horaires-des-lignes-506.html

It's a shame ski resorts don't recognise the importance of decent public transport - come 2017 when they have the Ceva link from Geneva Airport to Annemasse we might see some more trains running through to Cluses and then perhaps more taxis/transfers from Cluses.

Powdersearch, there was talk of a properly joined up service from Geneva to Chamonix which would be a thing of beauty...
