Poster: A snowHead

My son is in Belfast and is looking to try and get a cheap holiday with some mates mid Jan and was asking my advice.
Do cheap last minute deals come up with the same regularity in Ireland as they do in Britain or is it recommended to book in advance. Ryanair appear to have useful routes form Dublin and Easyjet do Belfast-Geneva are there any other airlines or airports worth considering?
Thanks in advance for any info.

TOs go to andorra france and austria. offers tend to be for SC aparts in France and Andorra. Belfast Geneva flights
have got expensive this year so DIY unlikely to be cheap option.

T Bar, Direct Ski and Inghams both go from Belfast weekly and do regular good deals.

T Bar, Ski McNeill www.skimcneill.com do last minute deals. If you aren't choosy about where you go and are prepared to brazen it out until a few days before you want to leave you can get some real cheapies. They seem to have stopped offering deals from France this year though. We got flights transfers and accommodation in Val Thorens for £99.00 each by booking on Friday evening and leaving at stupid o'clock on Saturday morning.
Belfast Geneva flights are OK in our off peak weeks but are expensive around Christmas, New Year and midterm

And oddly enough the crystal ski website annoys me as the prices are cheaper from Belfast, ( I live the same distance from Belfast as Dublin) even when you convert from euro to sterling. If they want to have a bigger choice , why not fly on a cheap flight to the uk and go from there? I do this sometimes, although most of the time now I just get a cheap flight and choose a resort near to the airport via bus, car hire , whatever. Would that be a suggestion for them?

The other thing with Easyjet is that the do their pricing based on Saturday being changeover day so flights on Sat 4th returning Sat 11th January would be £350.00.
Fly out on the 9th back on 16th for around £90.00 - Stay in F1 for about 20 euro on Thursday, buses and trains on Friday. Find somewhere cheap to stay on Friday - Ski 7 days and come home on Sunday, you would probably be able to do it for under £500.00 each including lift passes
