Hi All,
After an unfortunate encounter with some rocks in March my 4 day old powder skis suffered severe damage! The side wall around the foot area shattered (about 5cm long) and part of the base was ripped out, however the edge is still intact (surprisingly!). I know most people would say that they cant be fix, bin them etc etc but after trolling the net it seems that people have fixed such damage. And the fact that I have only used them 4 times makes me want to repair them.
My question is – has any one out there actually done this (as apposed to read about it), how did you do it and more importantly did it work and last??
The core shot is easy to fix so I’m not worried about that, its more the side wall that is causing me questions. I have removed the damaged portion of side wall and exposed the core, the next step was going to be to pour in epoxy, let it set and sand it down a bit so it looks ok. However I need some kind of semi flexible epoxy as normal epoxy will no doubt crack with the flex and let water etc in. Does anyone know of any flexible epoxy and where to get this? I have heard of G-flex but is there anything else??
Any information from people's previous attempts would be great!

yeah done some proper "skip ready" repairs, love it. Get yourself some sidewall ABS, fix it in place with a first gentle coat of epoxy, the drill 1.5mm holes ever cm or so, fill 'em up with epoxy and pin the ABS with Paperclips.

BMG, Spyderjon sells flexi epoxy that I have used and it seems to work, takes a long time to cure so leave it clamped for ages!

CH2O, whow, your ski was a lot worse off than mine! Where do you get side wall ABS strips from? I am having trouble finding any on the net. Cheers
