Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Well, at least in the Tunbridge Wells branch.

Confused Sadly, it looks like the displays are going to be as rubbishy as last year's - all the gloves are upstairs in the Men's section and the socks are mixed in with 'normal' ones in the socks display ... This is all the more annoying this year as the in-store broadcast waffle specifically refers to their ski-wear ... Neutral

Nothing much by way of gloves in the Derby store this week when I went in though the decent jackets are starting to appear, Vans Bilabong, Salomon etc.

Got a decent pair of Salomon gloves half price in the Edinburgh Hermiston Gait branch today. Quite a selection of gloves, although mostly in size S or XL. Oddest item was a Spyder one piece race suit, original price £510 now under a £100.

Kitted the girlfriend out head to toe for her first trip next January for about £120 - Salopettes, Surfanic Jacket (20,000mm rated!), gloves and two base layers. It's not high end stuff but it looks well built and when she tried it on she complained about being unconfortably warm, which is a first. Smile

Went to Glasgow Silverburn, got a full rack of Snowsports stuff for ladies, although some of it was definitely not fit for snowsports.

The only gloves we found at TKMaxx were 3 pairs of black Reusch 1 was too big 2 too small for my lady's hands. Nothing else was fit for winter sports.

A nice Kawasaki green Salomon jacket in the Manchester branch yesterday nearly enticed me. £169. I don't need a new ski jacket. Repeat until convinced.
