I'm gutted lampbus. I opted for Weardale that day (which was epic BTW) so unfortunately missed out on auditioning for the next Warren Miller film....
PS. You tube is blocked by the IT police at work - so will watch the video with interest later.

biddpyat,
Err, a few more than one actually!
Try googling Yad Moss or Weardale for starters. They are both well worth a visit!
You can also ski in the Lakes on Raise, although I've not been there so can't comment on it.

It's a fabulous part of our country, the run up to Hartside summit is my favourite run on the bike, from Whitby, Darlington, Middleton in Teesdale, Alston, Hartside, Penrith, Ullswater, Windermere and back via Wensleydale. Even on a summer weekend the roads are reasonably quiet (apart from the bits in the Lakes), take a sunny day off through the week and it's right up there with a powder day.

I had no idea we had ski resorts in England. I had seen the name 'Yad Moss' here before but had just assumed it was in Israel. It sounds quite Yiddish.

Ski-in and ski-out - as long as you join the bits in between with a car.
Night life - good if you are interested in sheep
Equipment hire - do it early (before setting off for the resort!)
Lessons - Read them from the books.
5 Star accommodations - plenty to choose from Newcastle, Northumberland, Durham, Cumbria and West Moorland
Nearest airport - Newcastle or Carlisle
Scenery - Plenty to see as the snow would not cover all of them
Chairlift facilities - Easy to choose from just one lift.
Famous regional Pennine cuisine - All available inside your own lunch box.
Best time to visit - Within 48 hours immediately after the news announcing the road has been cleared after a big snow dump.
How to find it - When you travel on this deserted road unable to see a soul in winter, suddenly hit a traffic jam with only space just enough for passing a Fiat Panda, look to uphill direction.
Off piste - Spoil for choice as the site has just one groomer working part time.

That's great. It nearly looks a bit like skiing on proper snow.
