Hello there,
We're looking for a week on Madonna next end of March.
First plan is to fly to Milan and drive up to Madonna region for 5 days of ski. We're 3 , intermediate skiers, and looking for affordable options on hotels, apartment and so on. So, all information is very welcomed !

Never been to Madonna but have booked what seems like a lovely hotel for 4 nights. " Casa del Campo." It's just outside the town at Campo Carlo Magno. It's got direct access to slopes and very reasonable with hotels.com.

edu_rio, we were in MdC last March. Had a great time. Stayed in the Montana. V comfortable bed and breakfast hotel. I.e. Exactly like a hotel but no restaurant for supper. Did have a bar though.

edu_rio, Gufo, In the absence of Wayne (our previous MdC expert who disappeared a few months ago in an epic flounceo) you are more than welcome to PM me with any questions, or better still post them here. I'm not an expert on MdC, but it is still very fresh in my mind.
edu_rio, I do strongly recommend you talk to Dominic at Enchanted Holidays. They are a vv small TO that only does MdC. He's charming and knows the area extremely well. When we tried to book independently we couldn't match the prices he could get us either. Certainly worth picking his brains.

We skied down to CCM one day. The chairlift out of CCM is pretty much useless. Incredibly old and slow. It stops every 5 seconds and is so small that an adult struggles to fit into it. it then links to another slow lift. Not a lift you would want to use regularly. If you are close to the bottom of the Groste lift you should be fine, at a guess.

foxtrotzulu, I normally clock Brenta Dolomites related reports (really like the area), but didn't spot a TR from you. Did you do one, out of interest?

Staying in Folgarida rather than MdC means its probably cheaper an'd you're in the same area.

Cacciatore, No, I'm afraid I never got around to it. You've made me feel guilty now.

We have been to Folgarida about 3 times with Folgarida.co.uk an decided to try Madonna in Feb 14 - Folgarida do great deals so worth a look anyhow and there was half term availability last time I looked a couple of weeks ago.
Getting from Folgarida to Madonna isn't a big deal but it makes for a long day in my view - the cost in MDC is about £200 a week more I think - have a look at Folgarida .co.uk website for details - no complaints about them at all

OK, I'll get working on a TR. Bullied into it! 
edu_rio, if you haven't already booked flights you might want to hang fire. I was a little surprised when you mentioned Milan as I was not sure that was an airport that usually serviced MdC. I looked it up on Google Maps and they said 2.5 hour transfer. Not too bad. But......looking at a TO website they list milan as 4 hours. That is too long for me and way too long for wife and family.
We travelled via Verona. Flight cost was, amazingly, £110 pp with BA.

I think as many of you, that I do not need some luxury hotel, some cozy and clean place to rest the bones after a long ski day is enough!  We will fly from Brasil, rent ski sets, rent a car and etc. and our currency is not that affordable one (balance todays is about 1Euro =~ 3,10 Real). So, that said, we need to think on $$$, seriously.
Ok! Stay close to the lifts is the best. But tend to be expansive. Some 10 to 15 minutes of driving to/from the lift should not be a concern.
Drive is not a big deal. In fact, ski should be one of our expectations. The plan is to ski for 5 days and drive way to go out other places, probably in Italy. The choice for the landing place could and should vary, actually. Milan came out as a response on a Web air fares search from here.

If you use 'advanced search' and put Wayne in the 'posts by author' box it will bring up lots of info that Wayne has posted in the past about MdC - and also the story behind his leaving the forum.........
