Help!!
Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better!
Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Glacier 3000 at Les Diablerets opened today for the season. There were 4 or 5 runs open plus a great jump park for those so inclined, with some of the biggest jumps I've seen.
Snow was fine in the morning, and there was a great bit off the sides where you could make the season's first tracks for most of the day. It also had the best snow. It was a beautiful blue sky all day and pretty warm.
By about 2pm the snow was getting a bit sticky, and as legs were starting to get a bit tired, we called it a day.
At the bottom of the cable car we had a lovely, cold pint of beer, sat in t-shirts in 24 degree temperatures, surrounded by the dramatic mountains at Les Diablerets. A fabulous start to the season

Sounds like you had a really nice time
I am thinking about studying in Lausanne next year (2014 - 2015) and skiing as much weekends as possible then. So i'll be following the Switzerland season threads with interest! You can never prepare too early
Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

, you're welcome. Lausanne is a great place, it will be a very good place to study, with loads of ski resorts nearby as an added bonus!
