Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Ski Boot dryer rack

 Poster: A snowHead
Poster: A snowHead
Hi

I am looking to put in a wall mounted heated ski boot dryer rack in our apartment in Tignes. (This is our place http://www.allezskitignes.com )

I have seen and used a Top Trock one - which costs a small fortune. Has anyone any knowledge of any others - drawn a blank so far!

Needs to be for 8 pairs ideally (or 10 max).

Cheers

Captain Snowy

ski2 are the normal suppliers of such kit that you see in rental etc http://www.ski2.com/en/Drytech/Products none of which are cheap

Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

Captain Snowy, I've heard of one being made up using plastic 1¼" waste piping held on to a board, fed from a heavy duty hair dryer. Sounds a bit Heath Robinson, but apparently it worked OK.

Captain Snowy, we have two heating/drying racks in our chalet, each hold four pairs. We got them about 11 years ago from somewhere near Annecy - BUT my OH thinks that firm were taken over (he tried to find out for someone else enquiring last year) by the ski2 people that CEM, mentions above. I have looked at their website and they are similar to ours. Just hope that ours continue to work. Will watch this for any other replies that you get!

It has a wall mount as well as floor stand. If you really need 10 pairs you need 5 of them which is not cheap. We have found you can easily dry two batches per night - one when you get in then swap before bed
