johnboy, tremendous! But it doesn't matter what it does at the gorm - they've shut the lifts for maintenance for the next couple of weeks! Bet the lecht have a stab at opening if it's half-possible. That tosh bloke will open for a hard frost, I've heard...

You're not kidding. I was up with mates in Aberdeen march 2 years ago and we headed to the Lecht on the off chance. There was a dusting of snow, and they opened the chair for the 3 of us. Amazing.

It was 5/6C according to the dash temp gauge when I took the photo, felt a lot colder, especially when you're a couple of hours from home - great to be out though

Very heavy frost in the Cheviots - I've been online and ordered some snow 'socks' for my car. I must be getting old, parking a mile from home and walking the last bit (all uphill), lost it's appeal last winter, I never used to mind before!
