Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Courchevel 1650 New lifts

All

Does anyone have any information on the new lifts that are being installed at 1650 and whether they will be operational for this season.

I have had a surf around the net but cannot find any detailed information on how the construction is coming along.

Cheers

Sheila

A bit about the Courchevel here http://www.latania.co.uk/photos/2013Summer/lifts/pistemapnewlifts.html,
but don't think on 1650,
there should be complete update on 3V investments at some point on already mentioned http://www.latania.co.uk/other/whatsnew/index.htm site.

chrisb, 2 gondolas out of 1650? hmmmmm I would rather have them replace those Pyramide drag lifts higher up, those runs next to them seemed great.

Raceplate, Thanks, it makes sense. Some of the lower runs on the very left of the piste map will be more suited for repeated rides now.
Still it will be nice if they could replace Pyramide drags.

Whilst part of me agrees with the comment on the pryramide drag, the other part is glad it is a drag as it keeps one of my favourite runs quiet!

And love to help out and answer questions and of course, read each other's snow reports.

Wow long red Creux from the top of Courchevel now re-graded to blue.
Quite a big change. I would agree with most of the run but the very very top is quite steep.

So if you're just off somewhere snowy come back and post a snow report of your own and we'll all love you very much

I did a double take on that but didn't go back to check; IMHO it's always been more blue than red because there's no great surprises, however might make it even busier. I have a love hate relationship with the run, when it's empty it can be sublime but full it's a nightmare.

stevew, I tried to find the new piste map on 3v websites but could not find the new one. Only did that run twice, always first thing in the morning and it wasn't difficult. The short steep bit just after the cable car, well that's different matter. Steep with waist height moguls later on Wink

New Bouc Blanc chair above La Tania - new toilets at the base station
Removal of the Crêtes chair
Removal of the Col de la Loze chair
Removal of Praz Juget drag
Removal of the top section of the Bouc Blanc drag (the bottom section now renamed to Stade)

In addition there are the following changes:
Creux re-graded from red to blue (can be seen on the bottom 2 pics)
Creux Lac re-graded from red to blue
Mur re-graded from red to black (see bottom pics)
New Lanches section of piste at top of new Bouc Blanc chair
New Tétras piste from the Chapelets chair over in 1650

New Altipôle piste linking across to Mur and around Cave des Creux
Rama piste no longer marked - now part of the bottom of the Park City piste
Turcs pistes is no longer marked as Park City is extended at the top and the piste is now all red. Turcs was regularly groomed and although quite steep it was wide & smooth, often making it one of the easiest black runs, great for giving confidence to those with that "black run fear factor" blocker.
Crêtes piste removed as the Arolles blue piste down to La Tania is extendedSee more
