Just looking to see if anyone has stayed in the Zum Kaiserweg and what they think, its reasonable through Crystal for early Jan so am looking to surprise Mrs briand with a trip this season after all my selfish gallavanting last year !!!

Yep, we stayed there in 2008. Absolutely fine, food OK, rooms comfortable. It's in a great location for the lift, and there is (or was!) a brilliant umbrella bar at the bottom for a well-deserved apres beer. It's a short walk into the town centre, the street the hotel is on is very quiet.
