Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Chamonix - Veggie-friendly Restaurants

 Poster: A snowHead
Poster: A snowHead
I'll be spending a few days in Chamonix next month - hiking rather than skiing - and am hoping someone can suggest some good restaurants that do a decent veggie option for evening meals. I don't eat fish or seafood but do eat eggs and dairy. Look forward to your ideas.

cat skis I think you'll find that Chamonix attracts a red-blooded adrenaline-junkie type of punter so you may struggle. wink

cat skis, my veggie daughter visited this winter. No full on veggie places but we had a nice meal at la filles et moustache I think it was called. L'impossible does a few veggie options as do quite a few other places. Le Lapin Agile Bar has a pasta option which I'm sure they would make veggie if asked, plus they serve excellent wine.

Anyway, snowHeads is much more fun if you do.

1gunsalute, lots of those do the veggie-and-yoga my-body-is-a-temple thing, I think you'll find. Not that I noticed that reflected in the resturant offering in Chamonix - I suspect pizza will be the way to go.

Thank you for the suggestions. I have struggled in France in the past so it's good to know that there will be options. The menu at Casa Valerio looks good and I'm always keen on places that serve excellent wine.

One of my first ski instructors recommended red wine to assist muscle recovery after a day on the slopes which is probably the advice that I've followed most consistently. wink

I have a few veggie friends and when they come to town there are a few places where I take them.
For cheaper snack foods:
Omeletterie La Poële
Poco loco (2 veggie burger options)
Pizza Paradiso (largest selection of veggie options in Chamonix - even if they are just pizzas)

Fancier food:
Munchies
Alan Peru
