Just a quick question about La Tania.
The magic carpet they put there, is it for free public use, or only for those kids taking ESf lessons? I've seen a couple of mentions about it on the net and it's always mentioned along with ESF...

I presume you mean the Troika lift opposite The Ski Lodge at the bottom of Folyeres blue run? If so it's a drag rather than a magic carpet but ASFAIK it is free for anyone.

Ah, I think that's a designated Zen area in which case it is free BUT it's also at the top of the La Tania Gondola so you'll have to buy a lift pass to get to it in the first place. All the free lifts are listed here http://www.latania.co.uk/skiing/passes.htm You could just buy the La Tania beginners pass to get there.

Absolutely. I think that's why they do the beginner's pass which only covers the gondola but gives you unlimited ups and downs if you want to come back to the village for lunch, or perhaps to progress to the Troika lift without skiing all the way down on the Plan Fontaine green.

Our three year old loved using the (free) magic carpet last winter! It was also good because you're right next to the Bouc Blanc Restaurant so you can grab a quick drink when you need a break.

oleksii, good place to learn and a nice place to stay. If you are there over Christmas (and depending on dates) look out for Father Christmas in La Praz. We took the kids down on the bus to see him come through the streets. I think they do stuff in La Tania as well, but we are there over New Year.

We use them every time we go to the 3 valleys. The best transfer company in our view. But being a repeat customer I have to admit bias.
