Poster: A snowHead
|
Hi - advice sought please...
Local artificial slope in Glasgow of which we're members is running junior race training selection tomorrow night. My eldest is keen to have a bash, but I don't want him to go along and to find he's hopelesslessly out of his depth with associated confidence crash. Anyone know what kind of level & age is right for starting race training. He's 9, ski sticks are still for playing knights with, but can link parallell turns - but in the random and loose way that 9 year olds do...
Help?

Obviously A snowHead isn't a real person

Best thing to do would be to ask the club what their requirements are. Your description sounds fine as an entry point for most kids race training clubs that I've seen though.

Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

I think he should be fine- at our club in Suffolk linked snowplow turns is the minimum, but I guess others may vary.

Hi Guys, thanks for the guidance, we'll take a wander along and see how it goes. And yes, there will be limited places so there looks like there's a risk of disappointment.
Cheers

You'll need to Register first of course.

I have come across selection elsewhere (Sandown), but fortunately there are other clubs around this area. Hope it works out.

Do this; they will know what they are looking for. And will be able to offer advice
