sarah, Oski was only 10 when he first read it. We bumped into Alex on eurotunnel and she autographed a copy for him. Doesn't seem to have done him any harm. But getting him to read anything normally is bit of a task so the fact that he'd actually pick this up and read overrode any other concerns.

Each to their own. Having read the book, it's definitely adult themed IMO.

I remember reading Heaven by Virginia Andrews at about 14. That was serious stuff - re sex - but nothing that I wasnt ready for. I was greedy for the books - would read them in a day or two. Read the whole series and 25 years later they are the books I remember. If a kid isnt ready for the book then they wont read it unless you make them.
