Anyone going out then? or been out there in years gone by? any particularly good suggestions for seeing in 2006?

It works like this .
You need a resevation wherever you decide to go. This will include Dinner. Book early as soon as you arrive.
If you book in some of the smarter Hotels these Dinners are normally a 6-10 course affair with about the same amount of wines with each course.
For the under 30's
The KK has allways been popular, simple meal, plenty of booze, then a disco upstairs and downstairs followed by fireworks from the deck looking down on the town. One thing to remember is your up the hill away from the town. I did it once , it was fun . Gunar (owner) trys to get a 50*50 mix of the sexes but it never happens 
Downtown
The Undeground has a Fondue style evning with live musicians however I think it maybe closed this season if Joan lost her latest court case.
BoBo's & Funky Chicken,Scotty's are popular places & will go allnight.
The Hazienda has a nice atmosphere
At Midnight every Pub , Restaurant spills out onto the HighStreet and its non-stop Fireworks till you go to bed.

What court case/cases is Joan involved in, Stanton? I ask as a regular St Anton visitor and occasional user of the Underground.

stanton, that's really sad to hear, I think the Underground is one of the great bars in the Alps.

Im not 100% sure about Underground closure but it was pretty much a done deal last season however Joan is a fighter & I wouldnt be surprised to find out she is still hanging in there. I can probably find out for sure .
She has been involved in a long running court battle over the last few years with Landlord of the building totalling many hundread of thousand of Euros.
She was suppose to be out of the premisies 2-3 years ago. Her lease is up & The Landlord doesnt want a bar there anymore. Think she has been gettting by on extended yearly leases on some technicality with the original lease.
I believe the Landlord sold the original lease at some very cheap rate & The Underground cleaned up lock stock ..... & the Landlord is a tad pissed off about that
