Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Norwegian website Aftenposten is reporting that the country is experiencing its warmest autumn for 150 years, with ski events already cancelled and snowmaking activities in resorts suspended. Click here for report.

Temperatures have been running several degrees above average, with the most extreme being north-west Norway where 21C was recorded at Namdalen, Nord-Trøndelag, on 1 November.

Quote:
"We're seeing a trend towards drastically warmer winters," weather statistician Bernt Lie told newspaper VG on Monday. "The snow is falling later and disappears sooner in the spring. The ski season has almost been cut in half the last 30 years."

Good for them. Scottish season hasn't much to cut at all if any.

Been in Scandinavia for 3 Christmas and 1 Easter. There were lack of snow in two out of the three Christmas. It was so bad that ARE in 2000 Christmas didn't sell a ski pass and ran a free-for-all chairlift system for 3 days because there weren't adequate piste runs.

ARE is the biggest Sweden resort at about an hour drive from the Norwegian border. Norwegian resorts visited like Oppdah, Geilo and Hemsedel are much smaller.
