I was expecting to get flamed here...!!
Women don't seem to mix on our trips and we have tried.... Sure, if they want to come then no problem but they need to be able to look after themselves. If they can't do that then it doesn't work. And the same applies to blokes which is why we have been a group of 8 or so for more than the last few years.
Now if it wasn't all about skiing then it might be different, but the holiday would change completely, and she doesn't want to come anyway..

I guess I can can kind of see your point here, I know what some women can be like...
However the last ski trip I went on was with two male friends and that worked fine. And most of the group trips I went on whilst at uni were predominantly men. There just don't seem to be as many women wanting to go skiing.

Most female skiers I know are happy just to pootle about all day not trying too hard. I'd regard it as a privilege to ski with an enthusiastic female skier. But Mrs Slikedges would probably consider it grounds for divorce. Mind you, I've convinced her to have a few coaching sessions.

Yes, sorry about that, but its saturday and I'm working and wish I wasn't so....
Anyway, to explain a bit further, this is the way we work...we map out an idea of some things we want to do, get concensus from the usual suspects and plan/book it. Our last trip was to try and do some routes off Bellecote but we didn't get the weather that opened up the area, mind you, it snowed so we were plenty occupied anyway. The type of things we have in mind might be a specific route and a couple of days guiding or a heli-trip etc. Anyway that doesn't appeal to too many people and we can't really 'recruit' people, much as it would be nice to se new faces, because when they ask us what it will be like, we can't tell them, so, hence they have to be able to look after themselves...
However, if you know of any women that would like to do this sort of thing, then we would be more tha happy to meet them out there... well, the single ones, anyway...
This is not a genda thing, a lot of people don't fancy this...!!

Yep. we have met a good few swedes often enough but they ski too well....and the guys do as well so we get a bit outclassed there in every respect. So stay away from locals and the like. It is problem, so we don't bother too much.
Can't ski all day and party all night anyway.....maybe we are just too boring nowdays. Still, we enjoy the skiing.

D G Orf, You need to change your lifestyle a little to give yourself any chance of meeting someone. For starters you're self employed working from home. Perhaps a part time job that involves meeting other people SKI INSTRUCTOR, bar work SKI INSTRUCTOR, voluntary work SKI INSTRUCTOR etc and the extra money may even buy you ticket to the states. Enrol on a course . Join a club. Go on the net - friends re-united, dating sites. It's not easy, and you may be shy, but you have to give yourself the chance. I wish I knew someone, but I don't as all my friends are married or too old for you.

Most women I know drink way too much and binge drinking is very common in that age-group.
The typical background might be, seperated with children and they are out on a girlie night so blokes aren't in the equation here. They are just letting their hair down as it is the first time they have been out for weeks...etc etc . shouldn't be too hard on them.
Apart from having a few lonely bottles of wine at home during the week I would bet some of these girls are worth dating...
But on these nights out they WILL be a handful, but I wouldn't let that put you off..!!

D G Orf, You are obviously a very accomplished skier, you LOVE skiing, you need to meet people and to be honest it's an easy way of meeting people with the same interest (albeit dry slope). You said you need to loose weight to be an Instructor, well I can't see why as long as you can do the job does it matter what size you are. If my skiing is good enough I am going to do the next course and I'm cr@p at skiing!

JT, it's soo bad, I am 15 and virtually everyone in my class of 30 smokes and get's wasted every friday sat and sun night. i am proud to say i am not one of them.
D G Orf, I may understand. Then again I may be free and single.

Hmmm, my mum's had 1 ski lesson. She was useless! (Shhhh don't tell her I said that!) The highlight for her was being picked up by a young handsome instructor. So maybe there's your job to a girl!

When I was at school there was a big scandal. A girl in my class had gone on a skiing holiday with her parents (paid for by her father) and her mum ran off with the ski instructor! Eventually her mum married the ski instructor, they all went to live in her France, became bilingual and her younger sister became a pro snowboarder. Lucky things!!

crazy_skier_jules, I frequently pick up fallen ladies on the ski slope, unfortuntely they are usualy far too young or far too old for me, those that are just right are the ones with boyfriends or husbands

Try not to get too disheartened. Just think, if you're still single by the time you get to 60 or 70 there are way more single women around than men at that age and you're bound to be in high demand! By that age they're bound to appreciate Wengen more too.
