Poster: A snowHead

rayscoops, I'm staying here until mid-April, at the end of the day the glacier stays open until end of April. Most of the current plans are to stay open until end-March, mid-April for all areas. This week looks bad ( 'cos of half-term) , then next 2 weeks should be quiet ( but we need more snow for 'Good' conditions ... Bit Hard at the moment. Easter will also be a 'busy' long weekend but not the weeks around it apparently , so loads of choice .... I think I would be tempted to look at mid-end-March , early-April ..... then I'd get a couple of provisional bookings in hotels for you. ( I'm in Wales 5th April) , and if conditions were 'poor' just go elsewhere from Geneva .... although the Glacier has 25kms plus in its own right so a great fallback.

Agenterre, sounds a good idea, after doing loads of the mega resorts I really fancy some of the smaller, quieter ones, I had a weekend flying in to Innsbruck recently and went to St Anton on the Saturday and Mutters (Innsbruck) on the Sunday, expecting St Anton to be quiet on a 'change-over' day and Innsbruck to be busy at a local (5 km away) resort on a 'family' Sunday, but it was the other way round, St Anton was so busy you could hardly board and Mutters was quiet until lunch time.

Agenterre, Stunning photos. Looks superb, and your last week mirrors our experience in resort x. Simply the best weeks weather in the history of skiing. We were both priviliges bunnies.
PS Nice jacket, still don't see what she sees in you

Haut-Lac were back in force on the slopes today …. I know folks moan about ESF here, but whoever’s kids these are beware … we counted 13 with 1 instructor today !! The other group only had 9 …. That’s assuming these Brits are ski instructors of course !
|
I was one of the Haut Lac instructors last season and I would just like to say that I am a qualified ski instructor. Also, if there were 13 with one instructor then that is very unusual, group numbers normally averaged around the 8 mark.
You also seem to be confusing the Haut-Lac ski school with the Haut-Lac International schools which are separate entities. The ski school is a holiday camp that deals mainly with kids from the Uk and Ireland.

Hey, ive been with the Haut-Lac ski centre Im from Ireland. When I visited there was 8 in our group and there is to be 8 this time again. They also mentioned that they had to average at the most 10 per instructor I believe.
Im going to try and get out with some friends for a second time this year, I remember last time at the bottom of the Sannenmosser slope there was a hotel directly opposite the train tracks. This was at the very bottom of the slope not the Hornberg on over at the car-park.
I do believe it was called Horn something too, have you any info about the place im talking about?
