Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Ski boots - resort or UK?

@Peter Stevens, I mustn't know anyone with boney feet. I can't think of anyone I know having to have repeat visits (apart from MrH at solutions4feet) and we are all reasonable skiers doing several weeks a season. Profeet every time for me

Zero adjustment needed on my current pair ( UK ) I did 6 or 7 snowdome trips to fault find before 10 days in Whistler, a bit sore for first hour while there, but after that left them fastened from start to end of day. Previous ones bought in resort I was back 3 times in the week and am now so glad they are flowerpots. ( recomended fitter but a full size bigger than current ) I now have about a 14mm shell fit, which is fine for my pootling around.

Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

I think 4 return visits is probably average Smile
I'd be surprised if that was average, perhaps at the top end of what you'd expect. I've been using Colin at S4F for a long time, the first boots I bought from him needed two visits for adjustments but now, on my 4th pair of boots from him, he knows what I want for my unusually shaped feet well enough to do any necessary work at the initial fitting. He also fitted my girlfriend for her boots a few years ago, and her's have never needed any adjustment.

I've had three pairs of boots from CEM (the last pair I supplied & he did the fitting). All perfect from the get-go with only a bit of toe height added during the initial fitting. First (piste) boot had a pretty gamey 10mm shell gap and the last two were freeride touring tech boots that have 15/16mm shell gaps. A good few years in to the first pair I developed a Mortons Neuroma in each foot so did a return trip so Colin could tweak the footbed to take the pressure off and that delayed surgery for another year.
