Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Does anyone know for certain if DVLA are co-operating with the FRENCH Government and passing on UK ownership/driver details?

and before the obvious answer comes up yes I know if I don't speed I wont get fined. (I have a clean UK licence for the last 14 years, and 14 years ago it was SP30 - 39 in a 30!)

Interesting stuff so far BUT can anyone answer my original question ie if I trip an unmanned speed camera in my own UK registered car in France will I see a fine in the post?

No.

@johnE, my car uses fancy cameras that reads the speed signs and displays the speed limit on the dashboard and, if activated, will automatically vary the speed or sound an alarm. I does not rely on sat nav data. I think in this instance it may have misread or a sign was missing.

Having just read the most recent Government issued papers regarding Brexit it appears that whilst the EU is more than happy to have the UK send them information they have not yet agreed that UK data protection legislation meets their required standard....so they will not send anything to the UK.

Looks like no-one will be receiving a fine after 31/03/19...

Unless you're stopped by the Police...

It appears that we should start getting the applications in for international driving licences now.

I can't speak for France specifically but I saw tickets from cameras in Austria and Germany last Winter. Both for a certain British registered vehicle.
I was surprised by the Austrian one as I knew the camera and didn't think I was over the limit - apparently I was wrong Confused
The German one just caught me out as I was concentrating on traffic and directions and hadn't realised the limit dropped as the autobahn went through an urban zone. It was, however, very reasonable, almost like a toll for getting there quicker - how very German Toofy Grin
