From a 51 year old teenager who learnt to board this year with his 12 year old son (he looks cool, I look stupid):
Reasons to be boarding (part 3)
- Comfortable boots: allow you to walk down those steep stairs to the restaurant loo without feeling you’ll fall any minute
- Better gloves: actually do keep your hands warm
- Baggy clothes: far more practical than most ski-stuff, more comfortable, and quite flattering for those expanding as we get older
- Chance to wear earrings and try out new hairstyles (try bright blue hair or see what you’ll look like when bald by shaving it all off)
- Ready-made picnic table strapped to your feet
- Stimulated sense of balance will improve your skiing
- It’s lots of fun

So Ian? are you going to convert or what?
Has being an admin bod on snowheads curbed your sense of adventure???

Ian
Just before the infamous ground zero day at skiclub we were having quite a good bit a banter about teaching you about snowboarding, i remember posting a load of stuff about different types of binding, i never managed to log on after coming back from Courmayeur so didn't know your response - any questions? Do you still have the links?

I think the next step for me is to actually do it! I'm a member of SCGB at the moment so I can go search for the appropriate post, I remember the exchange being highly informative.
Are you sure you mean bagels?

You know it makes sense.

When Dan first posted there were actual images displayed in his post. Now there are only the addresses. I suspect some intervention by a Moderator. I have looked around for guidance on posting of images. In the FAQ it merely says images can be posted (and how to do it), but no suggestion they are discouraged. So what is the etiquette on posting images?

FAQ is one produced by the bulletin board software. snowHeads policy is that links are put in, not pictures, to improve loading time for those on dial up connections.

Thanks Elizabeth B, and I think this policy quite sensible, but is it published anywhere?
(Aplogies if it is - I often miss what is right in front of me )

Elizabeth's completely right and please consider yourself not told off at all Jonpim.
There are a few bits and pieces of policy published here and there but I'm sorry to say there is no definitive source as yet. Some general terms and conditions have been prepared but not quite implemented since, as everyone seemed to be behaving so nicely, it was easy to prioritise other matters above them.
Personally, I've never really found the role of 'Authoritarian' an easy one to adopt especially when no-one's being naughty
