Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

@thecramps, we didn't book flights until Feb so the one at a more sociable time was much more expensive - if we go again, which we may well do, will need to book flights much earlier or even fly the sat night and stay over.

Only about an hour, and there Ostersund is never very busy so there was no delays getting our bags and getting the transfer coach.

We did find that when we were looking for our flights that it was cheaper, and we were offered better options by going direct with SAS online and not using the flight search websites. In the end we had very civilized flight times, and not too much waiting around. The 3 hours at Arlanda on the way there was soon used with relaxed lunch and a wander about. We were unable to find anything travelling via Trondheim that didn't mean mad very late/early arrival times.

Another plus of arriving when we did was that the ICA was open so we could get a good shop in on arrival day so we could get straight out there skiing on the first day.
