Forecast looks like maybe 10cm tonight plus very light snow for the next day or two, Possibly another 10cm on Sunday total snowfall for the next 7 days unlikely to be more than 30cm
Long range forecast suggests further light snow the last weekend in Feb

Was in Wengen for the DHO Mcmillan week - hard packed snow but cold and sunny. Popped into Central Sports to see Stab/Jonnyluvplums and try and persuade him to come back to the forum as really miss his amusing comments - we'll see. Family off to Murren on Saturday so hoping for more snow than forecast.

There are quite a few of us Wegenphiles. This year I went solo - and had a cracking time with both the DHO and the Crystal ski group. But maybe next season it might be fun to see if we could have an informal week for snowheads? Not a bash - I think the days of Wengen sH bashes are over, for various reasons. If I remember, I'll drop a thought about this in the Solo skiers and groups section in the run up to next season.

OTOH, a group of us getting to Wengen for the same week could be very pleasant. No organized lessons or racing - but I could cope with that - with counselling. Of course, given suitable conditions, off-piste would be entirely possible - the DHO is always there - and some of us could chip together for a guide.

Hurtle, crikey - that's quick. Bit early to get something coherent together yet. I may drop a thread into the solos skiers and groups section in a few weeks. Just to be clear - my thoughts are that we DIY for travel and accommodation - maybe tying up the week with one where Al Copley is at the Falken.

Hurtle, Al Copley is a great pianist who when he stays at the Falken always plays the piano in the bar in the evening.
achilles, DIY definately easier for travel and therefore accomodation as well but if we can find a small group of us we ought to be able to get a bit of a discount at one of the hotels in the village, won't be huge but should be able to get something. Or I suppose we could rent a chalet and self cater

D G Orf, must admit I was thinking of staying at the Falken again. I just love it there. Sort of in keeping with the Village - and more or less ski in (from Kleine Scheidegg) ski out (round the back of the ski school area - which I avoid) down to the Mannlichen.
