@VolklAttivaS5, I'm taking mine! There's snow forecast so it would be daft to leave it at home. Managed a bit of touring at this time last year when there was no snow at the base.

@Kelskii, I'm not leaving any of my kit at home just saying I don't have a 'tourist' Avibag
Besides, the skins take up such little space in my rucksack I might as well have them available if I want.

@VolklAttivaS5, yes, I just thought I'd mention that there's no way I'm leaving mine at home. And anyway, there's no such thing as a 'tourist' avi bag. Now at the airport waiting for the bag drop to open.

Folks.
I would not get to excited about the snow reports.
Nothing major in forecast.
Dust on Crust just a few cms is expecred.
Anyone cruusing around the pistes the last couple of weeks with their Avi Gear looks quite rediculous...
I would swap it for a ruksak full off beer & sunscreen

@stanton, the tourist board must love you
And love to help out and answer questions and of course, read each other's snow reports.

@erica2004, The weather is straight from the Tourist Board!
Arriving Tuesday. In your experience will that sort of dump on top of what's already there result in anywhere where skiing off piste is worthwhile? Or is this dump really going to be the base for the rest of the season?

Farmers were wrong then. Anyway, we're heading out there next Sunday.

@erica2004, I always said after Jan 2nd the situation was changeble/uncertain.
Tonights snow will be dandruf a few cms.
Wednesday/Thursday will make everywhere look pretty again.
@flaming, Re. Off Piste.
Imo. It will be very dangerous. You really need to know the lay of the land under the snow.

@stanton, I don't know St Anton at all, guess what I was really asking, but badly, was "would it be worth getting a guide for a day on Friday, or will there really still be nothing actually worth skiing?"

My, how things can change in the space of two days.
Now I can get excited about my trip - less than two weeks to go!!

Not really actually. The weather forecast had the dump on their radar already when @stanton was still busy consulting the local farmers

As St Anton says it will be dangerous - both in terms of obstacles under the snow low down and old snow problems/avalanche danger at altitude - but 50cms would be enough to ski some places safely.
Much easier to do when the resort is closed though, as most of the obstacle free meadows have pistes over them... But you could always go and hike up next to the old lifts at Pettneu.

Can anyone recommend a taxi firm for Innsbruck to Lech please ? We usually use Der Lecher but the prices creep up every year. Ta.
You know it makes sense.

@erica2004, You have a lot of disposable cash!! Trains & Buses are quick much cheaper and reliable.
@Langerzug, Your forecasts have been monumental failures. I said in the previous 10days that the situation after the 2nd is "uncertain" . The amount of snow (Weds/Thurs) is still unclear but lets hope for the upper 50cms or 1/2Metre sounds better .
Friday is looking like a Sunny Blue Sky Day to make some deepish POW turns on Bachseite (Safe)
but looks like the Weekend will bring more Snow ....bring it on ..
Thursday it "could" be possible that the Schindlerbahn will be closed due to Avalanche Control
Wow, that is pretty stark looking conditions. Don't count your centimeters of snow until it has fallen.

Nice piste skiing at Rendl today. The dusting of snow has helped a lot.
