@Kelskii, it was ok if you were already there in resort beforehand not trying to get there! I remember the travelling shenanigans well.
@stanton, yes that is true about the frostbite and better to stay in if it's too cold. I've seen frostbitten toes that have been in ski boots all day in temperatures far warmer than -20 but I think that was a result of not enough suitable clothing around their core for starters.

@stanton, here in the Tirol the sky has looked grey/black all day and it's suddenly turned cold so I think the snow is on its way. How much well who knows.

Kapall was also closed for most of today. Slopes noticeably busier than the past week, and with the wind noticeably more and larger ice patches.

Official Local Weather & Snow Report
The prevailing high-pressure area will weaken towards Christmas, the extensions of a cyclone, situated over the North Atlantic, will result in changeable weather. Particularly the wind in the mountains will temporarily strongly arise. Slight precipitation is expected now and then, especially in the night hours. Overall, only small amounts of precipitation are expected. On Sunday, a weak warm front will result in some precipitation particularly in the morning and another weak cold front will brush against our regions on Monday night. Then, however, a high-pressure area, accompanied by long sunny spells, will settle in and determine the weather until the end of the year.

St Anto has the best snow coverage & conditions thanks to the kuntschnee (artificial snow)
If your going to Taps or the KK get off the piste at the Kaminstube (leave skis there) and walk up road. This is much easier and safer than walking over the hill from Heustadl.

Conditions were ok this morning but it turned to rain later on which with more traffic cut up pistes previously not bad.
It's certainly got busier yesterday and today.
We will see what tomorrow brings but local forcast has temps warm and rain

@harvsurrey, I think looking at the webcams it's been better here in Mayrhofen.
Going home tomorrow but going out to St Anton on 7th Jan so hoping it will snow some more before then.

Had a great day yesterday, skied really good pistes all day and some powder on pistes too. There's no off piste but I'm cool about that I never expect that at Christmas. It's fine, all the negativity on here is strange, get out here if you've plans you'll have fun.
