Here you can read my update of the redicules skiing/boarding on my Facebook page www.facebook.com/skiadventure.
Also the road is closed until at least 6pm tomorrow morning, the shuttel train between St. Anton and Bludenz are still not operating, maybe later today.
But, the skiing in the more safe places, like the Zwischen run or down from Gampen was just amazing today.
Still be careful on runs with grass underneath, like under the trees just above Tabs and Heustadel, here it's full of big ice balls and the snow is sliding all the time, somebody had to get air lifted out of there ealier today.
We're expecting just a small snowfall tonight, probaly about 15-20cm.
I will post some photos from the village later today.

Snowing lightly and will stop later this morning, still cloudy for the rest of the day, but sun is expected for the next 2 days, with slightly warmer temperatures.
The main road is now open and also the Arlberg Pas is open (with chains).
Some of the secondary roads down the valley are still closed.
The shuttle train to and from Bludenz are expected to start operating this afternoon.
The train to and from Innsbruck are expected to start again on Thursday.
Still take very much care if skiing off-piste here in St. Anton, just stay on the inbound off-piste runs.
Have a nice day.

Just received an alert
Heavy snowfall continues to cause disruptions in western parts of Austria. Extensive travel disruptions have been reported in the states of Vorarlberg, Salzburg and Tyrol as a number of major roads are blocked and rail services remain partially suspended. As a result, several villages are currently inaccessible in the affected states. The snow storm has also increased the likelihood of avalanches in the affected areas, particularly on the slopes of Arlberg mountain range between Tyrol and Vorarlberg. Several popular ski resorts, including Lech-Zuers and Ischgl, have been isolated following road closures. As more heavy snow is expected in the coming days, further disruptions to road and rail travel are likely. In addition, sporadic disruptions to utilities, including electricity and telecommunication, are possible.

radar, Please check your sources and if it still applies and PARTICULAR check prior forum posts in this forum (just above yours), before you're posting something that is not VALID anymore - PLEASE.
No more heavy snow is expected, just a light snowfall on Friday and all access roads are open and accessible to the Arlberg ski areas.
Avalanche level today is a 3 out of 5.

Not sure who red24 are, but as Torbs says, their data is several days old! The BBC reported this a few days ago - I think stanton posted a link earlier in the thread.

Sounds (from the P2P report) that is was a full-depth slide - I wonder if any glide cracks were visible before hand, or maybe they were filled in by the fresh snow?

It is a shame that a distinguished paper like the FT have there facts wrong about the beginnings & ownership of the Mooserwirt & also to somewhat the KK.
The biggest fear that Mountain Apres Ski Bars in St Anton & the rest of the resorts in the Tirol will be the new law currently being debated about forbidding skiing, boarding after the Pistes are closed i.e 17:00hrs.

I'm just back from St Anton and thought I would add some comment.
There was more snow than I think I have ever seen - incredible. The first people up Valluga (which was closed pretty much all week) will be spoilt! When they reopened the top of Rendl on Sunday, the snow was awesome, chest deep powder.
I did two days with Piste to Powder - which I can highly recommend.
I agree with the earlier comments regarding skiable area in stormy conditions - whilst I am sure the last 10 days are not common, the wind and av risk closed substantial parts of the mountain down. We were pleased to have gone to Lech and Zurs earlier in the week (on the only sunny day!).
On a cautionary note, a group behind us got caught in a slide under the Galzig chair on a lift served tree run on Wednesday. Apparently someone entered a bowl (without paying much attention) above another skier and set off an avalanche.
I'm now left wondering whether to buy some AK JJs, Bent Chetlers or Super 7s for next time!

First sunny day today after the big snow storms.
Hopefully more lifts will open today, looks like the temperature will rise to around 0 at 2000m.
Avalanche danger level is a solid 3, even below the tree line, but rising slightly in the afternoon because of the rise in temperature.
If you are out here and going off-piste skiing, please take care, as it is on days like today, where the most avalanche accidents are happening - first sunny day after a storm.
Have fun.

Are the roads back open lads, due to drive Zurich to Ischgl tomorrow night
Also should we be concerned about speed cameras en route, I've just been registered posted from Spain with a shot of my rental car breaking the law. Wasn't me, honest....
Have no accomodation for Sat night yet so might relocate to St Anton for Sunday's pre-flight skiing.
Anyone any thoughts about whether St Anton might be better on Sun than Ischgl? I've been to St Anton before and liked it but figured in these conditions it would attract more powder addicts so there might be more value, and less competition in Ischgl.
BBBBBBBBRRRRRRRIIIIIINNNNNNNGGGGGGGGGG EEEEEEEEEHHHHHHHHTTTTTTTTTT!!!!!

Is Ischgl open to traffic yet? Today's Telegraph says there are 1,000 British skiers who have been stuck there since last weekend when they were supposed to be going home.

Yes in Switzerland & Austria . The Police use unmarked cars & hand held radar. Exit from tunnels & avalanche gallery's are favourite spots.
Fines are HIGH.
If your stopped for speeding they will also check you for other regulations. If your drving Swiss registered car in Austria expect to be targeted !
Make sure your car is equipped for Austria with refelctive vests for driver and ALL passengers. These must be worn by all in the event of a breakdown. You can be fined if you do not have one and also for passengers.
Your need a Vignette for Austria as well.

Not sure you'd find much less competition in Ischgl, it's not only Bognor-clad Russians who ski there.
Sonnenkopf could be a very good shout though...
