Booked at last! Going from Gatwick now. All really ideal flights had gone, so not going to get to Niederau until about midnight on 4th. What a palaver - first of all there was no accommodation left in Niederau, then that was a mistake, but there were no more flights. All sorted now though, and getting there in the end. Ski boots are out and ready to wear around the house. Soo excited!

Well now we have brilliant sunshine and very cold - minus 11 this morning. Skied all the runs yesterday and have to say ther were all wonderful, quite quiet as well so no queues! Did you all meet up at Bobo's last night? Did keep an eye out but didn't recognize any snowheads! Carolyn

carolyn, I met up with Geoff at bobos on Sunday. Have to say that the snow is really tip top. Have been skiing auffach the last 2 days and is excellent. Mate and his son skinned up some hill and have lovely powder all way to valley floor

Sadly today was not great. Temp very mild and raining almost up to around 1600-1800m (in auffach anyway). Thankfully visability was fine though. Needs a freshen up now that temp has risen

Was a bit mental at top of hill today. We got chair up and stopped as soon as we got off. Blowing an absolute hooly at top and we took refuge in hotel as my youngest was literally getting blown off hill. Waited an hour or so for gondola to reopen and took the gondola of shame. Had a bit of food and went back for a couple of top to bottom runs. Snow was lovely and vis wasn't too bad. Folk arriving over next few days should be in for a treat as long as temps stay low

It has finally stopped snowing, but still cloudy. Forecast is for more snow today and to get colder!

Managed a couple of hours yesterday morning. Was truly epic conditions on and off piste. Road to Salzburg was a bit dodgy. Don't think I've seen as much snow en route to an airport.

Visibility at Innsbruck airport on saturday no good, too much snow so had coaches to Munich for flight home.
What a bummer !!!!!! but was worth it for the week we had

Last day at work before trip - although in this case my work location (Warsaw) saw -22 overnight so am already used to the cold. Mind you don't want to see -32 in Niederau either

My last day at work too, but I'm in balmy Swansea. It's probably about +4 outside now, but it is more like +28 inside. It was -3 when I got to work this morning. It's a gloriously sunny day here.

carolyn, Hi to u, looks like a terrific season, I take a sneaky peak at your webcams most days. It reminds me of when we first brought our kids to Niederau about 8 years ago. We had never seen so much snow, it was awesome! We are skiing this yr , first week in March, not booked yet and not sure where to go, although will defo be Austria. Have a great season Carolyn and I hope any Snowheads going out will bring you a creme egg or 2!

Back home again in rainy Swansea after a cracking week in Niederau. Had the gorgeous Thomas as instructor this year. He succeeded where others had failed in that he managed to keep me in his class for the whole week. Things get better a bit every year. Hopefully next year I'll be able to get down from the top of the blue run by the Harfenwirt without assistance on the first right turn. The Harfenwirt was a superb place to stay and Herbert was a great host.

Came back from a week in Niederau on Saturday. Absolute gem of a place, and I personally think there is more fun to be had on the slopes in Niederau rather than Auffach (although Auffach is definitely worth a vist).

I want to be back there again already. A pity I have to stay put and go to work for a while. Have to make do with playing golf instead. The season will start soon. At least I have a lot of photos and a couple of videos to look at until I can get another holiday in Niederau.

It's very odd how at +10C in Swansea it is so cold your hands are in pain while filling your petrol tank, but at -20C in Niederau it is quite comfortable to play in the snow.
