Bloody Hell somebody else going to Niederau/Oberau, the plane I am flying out is an Austrian Airlines one , it only holds 100 passengers I hope all you lot are not on it never get off the ground. Staying at the Tirolerhof.

King bean, no have been skiing a number of times but not to Niederau/Oberau. I bought it on the basis of price really and the fact that the Tirolehof had single rooms so I could avoid the single supplement. Think I have made a good choice though as the reviews on tripadvisor are excellent and the snow is going to be great. Went to France last year but didnt really get on with it, very expensive and little/no charm.

Ok will get to Bobos for Sunday. I will be in a very boring Brown Oneil jacket ( I like to go unnoticed I find it best with my skiing ability!).

Don't panic! All roads are open again and we are once more in contact with the outside world! The snow has stopped and the sun seems to be coming out and the forecast is to stay sunny for the next few days at least. Hope you all have a great time, and enjoy the not too busy slopes. Carolyn

What are the snow conditions like just now? I would expect them to be excellent, yet the Widschoenau site saying grippy (griffig) where I would probably have expected powder (pulver) given the snow in recent days??? Waxing the skis tonight mmmm nothing like the smell of skis getting waxed to get you in the mood

Think I will be getting to hotel about 4/5pm, will relax and maybe pick up skis then have a cheeky beer. I am planning on going to Auffach first couple of days because I read that Niederau is busy start of the week with ski schools(not sure why that would change later in the week though!). Have a great trip everyone and a great week.

Having been for the whole week in ski school in Niederau I can see why it gets less busy as the week goes on. Quite a few people drop out of the classes for various reasons. Some only book for the first few days and then get good/confident enough to go off on their own or with the rest of their more experienced party. Some get tired and go off sightseeing instead. A very small number start finding it difficult to get up early after drinking and socialising late. I think they expect the classes to be like they are in other countries - either morning or afternoon. In Niederau you attend both morning and afternoon. The classes I have been in have gone down by at least 50% as the week goes on.
My brother liked to go to Auffach in the morning and Niederau in the afternoon as that way you get the best snow conditions in both because of the angles to the sun.

Actually both the Niederau ski schools (blue and red) will do half days (albeit it's not much less than full days).

Not long now should be flying out at 6am hope to be at hotel by 12 we are doing the ski school so not starting in till Sunday does anyone no when and wear we pick up skis and boots from booked tho nelson

I am on the 5.55 from gatwick so should be there same time looking forward to now trying to get to sleep but no chance yet
