Axsman, I haven't suggested anything like that. Like you I trust admin, having chucked plenty of money his way over the past few years.

I just think it would be good manners to give an update if people have asked for one. If he had replied to the PM that was sent on the subject that would have been it, job done.

Does nobody remember the last time admin got slated for not replying to things quickly?! It turned out he'd suffered a personal tragedy. Now, I'm not suggesting that this has happened this time (I don't know anything more than you all) but FFS can't we give him the benefit of the doubt and hang him after it turns out that he's committed some heinous crime? Confused

holidayloverxx, as there are hundreds of posts on SnowHeads every day, it could just simply be that Admin has not read the thread. I can't comment on the PM, but I'm sure he has had many others. It's quite difficult for Admins and Moderators to keep up with what is going on sometimes if there is a lot of activity. . If we pop in for just a couple of minutes, and go away again, it would appear that we have read all of the new posts and threads . I missed the announcement of lessons at the EOSB and payment for the Lardybus just because i have been away and only logged in for a few minutes at a time.

Helen Beaumont Sure, he might not have read the thread, and I understand that it's difficult to keep up with everything. Maybe a mod or an admin could point him in this direction to stop the earlier poster from starting a paypal refund process.

I'm dipping out now and let those that actually donated pursue it if they so wish; I only got involved because I felt strongly on the point of principal around people's reasonable (imv) expectation to have an update when one was asked for. In closing, I have never suggested that anything untoward has happened nor have I any doubts that donations will have (or will find) their way to Chemmy.

holidayloverxx, Like I said, I wasn't suggesting that he is sad for any reason, just that he may have reasons for not having posted and perhaps we should give him the benefit of the doubt. A quick search shows that the majority of his recent posts have been in threads relating to the EoSB - which may be relevant? This time of year is his most hectic and I'd be inclined to think that Helen Beaumont may have hit the nail on the head. Even with a PM, it's possible it either got missed, or forgotten in the general mayhem of getting the bash organised. It's not perfect, but then not many of us are... wink

papasmurf - yawn yawn. Nobody has suggested it's been stolen/embezzled etc. JUSY FOR CHRIST'S SAKE GIVE US AN UPDATE . . . . . . . I now find this funny - just a shame that any other well meaning fund raising post on this forum is likely to be clouded by this debacle.

hardly a debacle, just some people who think that £20 on a unofficial basis entitles them to a running commentry. As has been stated before an update will be forthcoming when ones availble.

Not a running commentary, just something. I'm not going to get worked up or bothered about this but I think something could/should be said. I have no doubt at all that the money will not go to the right place - whatever that may be; if Chemmy and her team mates use it for a great end of season pi$$ up then I'd be happy for that even. But a little acknowledgement that something is in process would not kill anyone. SH showed a great spirit of giving in these tough financial times; I doubt if they passed a charity collector in the street that they'd put £20 in the tin...on this occasion they did it as it was close to their hearts - so it's a bit of a slap in the face to be given such a cold shoulder ever since.

I have had enough now.

I first asked for an update 4 weeks ago, and despite repeated requests from myself and others, there has been zero response. I also PM'd admin requesting some form of update.

Again, zero response.

I donated the £20 in the hope that it would help see Chemmy through the rest of the season. The season is now nearing its end, if not already finished, and i've no idea whether it helped her finish the season or even if any of the GB team have benefited in any way.

I've never expected a blow by blow report of any discussions with Chemmy or the GB team management, just some form of acknowledgement that discussions were under way. But admin has not even acknowledged my PM, let alone responded via this thread.

Consequently i have initiated the paypal recovery process and will send my £20 donation direct to chemmy.

Very disappointed that i'm having to do this, but i'm thoroughly disillusioned with the result of this appeal through Snowheads.

OK, I was waiting to see if anyone bumped this again, otherwise I was going to let it ride, but its come to the surface again so here goes.

I think that Admin is probably very busy with the EoSB and other SH matters at the moment, but I was a little uncomfortable with some of the comments on here so I have done a little digging. How about if I told you all that I have it on the VERY BEST authority that there is no news worth reporting yet on the 'Chemmy fund' and that Admin WILL let everyone know when there is news worth posting?

That's all I know (so it's not worth asking me more about it), but the source is reliable and I know that Admin is aware of the concerns in this thread. I hope this helps to some extent.
