Hi jbob, note that the report for the Val d'Arán (Baqueira) should be http://lauegi.conselharan.org/boletines/ - the link you currently have in your main post is fixed to a certain date in the past.
Also note that the link you have for "Spain" is actually specifically for the Catalan (Eastern Spanish) Pyrenees. (There are a number of ski resorts in Spain outside of the Pyrenees, albeit that they get very little press here on sH!)
Finally, I recommend you group all the Pyrenean resources together (Catalan, Val d'Arán and Aragonese Pyrenees on the Spanish side, then Andorra, and finally French Pyrenees; if I figure out what the correct resource is for the Navarran (Western Spanish) Pyrenees is, I'll post it in due course).
Thanks for the great work!

There's an app which contacts the mountain rescue team in the Tirol giving them your grid ref, name, email address etc if you need assistance. There may be others elsewhere. It's in the App Store as; Notfall App Bergrettung Tirol. (Sorry I haven't got a link).
Perhaps if they become more widespread it would be worth making an index of providers on this thread.

https://www.echo112.com - android and apple app developed in Swiss but now operational in all Europe (claimed) that texts the emergency operator your GPS location. Always better to short circuit the emergency operator and go straight to the local team if you can though, I usually "favourite" the local call out number in my phone - usually found on the piste map.

Indeed. Since the daily bulletin isn't being released yet, let's wait and see whether the URL will start working again.

@MichaelHill, Hang on, I have a bit of a problem with that...

NeverLose uses Bluetooth Smart version 4.1 as the standard connection between the smartphone app and the alarm devices. In Ski Finder mode, all components are in constant connection. If communication breaks with one or both skis, Ski Finder mode will automatically sound the alarm from the lost equipment. |
Using bluetooth to pair to a device, goes out of range, starts Bleeping @96Db. Ok, but seeing that recent post show that there can be significant issues with keeping live a smartphone near to a transceiver, is it a wise move?

For those struggling with French to English, www.onlinedoctranslator.com does a reasonable job of translating pdf's, such as the French meteo bulletins, into English. I've no allegiance to the site, and if anyone knows of a better solution, please submit.

jbob, please could you update the Val d'Aran link to use the graphical one that AndAnotherThing provided, namely http://lauegi.conselharan.org/boletin-de-prevision-de-aludes/
....looks like it was a permanent change of URL.

Im not sure if this has already been posted (I couldn’t see it):
The Avalanche Review
https://www.americanavalancheassociation.org/tar/
The archives are free to access. Recent publications are behind a paywall.
I found the compilation of incident reports (called “Snowy Torrents”) to be extremely valuable.
