Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Skiing with little kids - suggestions?

Hi

Going to keep this as short as possible, I have skimmed through the replies you have had. From past expereince skiing with children can be challanging but find the right ski comapany/ private chalet company and they will take out all the stress. I would go catered and try to fill the chalet as you might get a better deal, plus you get the run of the chalet and dont have to worry about other guests. A good ski chalet company should sort out ski lessons , creche ect , kids meals etc... which in turn will give you a relaxing holiday. Look to pay around £4000 - £5500 for a catered chalet sleeping up to 8 , this will not include passes, ski hire or flight for your dates.

I would consider looking at Trip advisor, below is a link to the top chalets is the Rhone Alps ( i am only speaking about France) have a read of the 10 ten chalets, you will probally find a chalet that specialises in family ski holidays

Good luck with your search, but I would suggest if you can pay that liitle extra and find something that ticks all your boxes.

Have not read all suggestions and not sure if you are sorted but I have just come across this thread and thought i would suggest Tigne. It is not very pretty but it is great for kids regarding lots of wide cruising blues and greens. We have been a few times with Mark Warner who seem ok and have kids clubs etc..

Another +1 for Esprit from me. Have used them several times and each time the childcare (mixture of creche and ski-school over the years) has been fantastic. They are not the cheapest, but the peace of mind for me is worth it.

If you decide on France I would avoid the whole period from 16/2 right to 16/3 as it is French school holidays if you are not tied to going at half-term. if you want to avoid some of the mass market operators listed above you could try a company like Ski Famille for catered chalet.

boardiac, boardiac,

Hi,

I am not sure if you are still on the forum, but we are travelling to Les Menuires in a few weeks with our 8 month old & are putting him into the Piou Piou creche for 3 hours a day while we are there so we can get a little bit of skiing in together. Could you please tell me your thoughts on how you found it when your daughter was there? Am struggling to find any reviews on the place!

THanks Smile
