clarky999, The kayak film is 27 mins long, called Book Of Legends - group of extreme kayaking guys on the Bashkaus River in Siberia, maybe you've seen it, if not try get a viewing. It was on at the Filmfest in St Anton last Friday, amazing.

kitenski, Andy Thurner describes in in detail in his first book, route comes from Trittkopf down to Stuben and crosses the Flexenpass via the roof of the tunnel......it's on my list, big run and needs a lot of snow. Asked Torbs about it last March, not good conditions then, keen to do it next season.

clarky999, Yeah its the Adidas one, and it starts with old fooage of the Russians you mention on the rafts, same river. If you just google Book of Legends it gives you a 5 minute trailer but the full film is 27 mins long, doesnt appear to be on general release yet but worth looking out for. Was watching some kayak lads on Rosanna last week, awesome.
On another general point - Dont know if anyone saw HIKE2Ride the Darmstattehutte based freeride firm last year (think it was on here some time ago), Stefan Hausl the main man has just released a new film which was shown at last weeks FilmFest in St Anton, couldn't go because we had other plans but its also on at Innsbruck film festival soon and then onto internet. Its called Lost & Found, worth keeping an eye out for it! Its local Arlberg stuff apparently.

clarky999, Me too, was up at the Darmstattehutte on my MTB last week, great run down from Rendlbahn to bottom of Maas chair (new thing MTB's on Rendlbahn, awesome but you do need full suss to get the best out of it) and then 900m pull up the track to the Hutte at 2500m near the glacier, what a place......was talking to the guy there about it, he was a tad cagy about it, too many people about and he was busy, couldnt get into any detail but will follow up on this. Looks a bit too rad all those cliff drop off's etc to do it full-on like Stefan Hausl did but a watered down version should be do-able! That whole area including Rosfall and beyond up to the top of the valley has to be the best place in Arlberg IMO. Its pretty sketchy re av's though, some big slides in last 2-3 years and some boarders were swept away into the hydro lake and killed so be real careful if you are up there. Must admit fancy doing some end of season stuff up there soon, was on Rosfall end March in spring snow and it was just superb, mind you so was Maroi! A local guy I know real well in Arlberg used to heliski up by Darmstattehutte back in the 80's, before it was banned and the hydro-dam was built, really intersting talking to him for routes ongoing, might have a dabble up there next February I reckon, the locals are pretty cagy about that whole zone, its a special place.

Or if you end up in the doctor's practice up near the Tourist Information/Galzig roundabout you'll get sent up there as soon as they find out you have insurance (the doctor owns/practices up at the clinic) before you know what's going on!

Was talking about Pettneu today as we drove past, that article helps answer a few bits. Colleague of mine said they saw the lifts running over Winter (11/12), which I thought weird knowing it'd gone bankrupt and spoken to people who had gone over the same season and found it closed.
