Ah, that map makes it a lot clearer. I'll look into Corvara as an option too.
Thanks

Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

Hi, that week it is also a holiday week for The Netherlands......which means about a million Dutchies will go skiing.
Austria and France are the most popular destinations for the Dutch, by the way.
Nevertheless I would recommend Valmorel in France. Easy slopes, nice atmosphere. Together with St. Francois-de- Longchamps on the other side of the Col de La Madeleine, it makes a great ski resort.
I would not recommend Valmorel late in the season, though The resort itself is situated on an altitude of 1400 m and the highest point is at about 2400m. When spring is early you could get in trouble in late March. But in february there should be no slushy conditions.

Interesting information. Lot of you mention Thule and Corvara. I can recommend Corvara and also if you like avoiding high frightening gondolas. How is Thule/Rosiere in that respect (high frightening gondolas). There are no blue slopes down to the village and when you go between the areas there are short red slopes for both directions, is that a drawback for inexperienced skiers. What other ski areas can you recommend for avoiding high anxiety in high traveling gondolas.

Go somewhere without gondolas. There is only one in the entire Espace Diamant and it's easily avoided (and not frightening, come to that).
