Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Sno125patrol, I booked an all in package with Thomson for my first ever ski holiday, it's a great idea!
I went to Austria too - to Kirchdorf. I don't think it suits your needs (too quiet, not enough slopes in the village, too low) but I found the instruction to be very friendly - all english speaking.
Believe me, you will be absolutely knackered at the end of each day - unless you are quite fit before you go - so don't overestimate the amount of nightlife that you'll need Very Happy

My budget excluding spending money for the week is about £2k to £2.5k. Is it better to book now or hang on for a bargain at a later date? I don't want to spend a fortune the first time just in case we don't take to skiing. We don't want a glitzy , expensive resort , just somewhere to learn to ski for fun & a bit of nightlife. Somewhere where there is something other than skiing to do.

Any additional advice or suggestions please?

Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

Saalbach fits the bill then, plenty of other things to do (ice go karting for one!), although I'm not sure on the cost of accommodation there.

^Take heed of this, a bit of pre-holiday fitness will make everything much easier.
