Ah...but I managed 23!!!
The secret is:
Find employer with big leave allocation
Stay long enough to get bonus days for long service
Ingratiate yourself with Manager so you can be off one week a month all winter
Don't under any circumstances contemplate having kids!
Never "waste" any money on anything else - decorating, new clothes, shoes etc...
Develop grim determination to last from April to December without a single day off while everyone else keeps ranting on about how great their trip to Beniorm/Majorca/Kos was
If all else fails find rich partner who likes skiing!!

Started in Glencoe round about '82, first foreign trip Chatel '85. This season, Wengen/Utah/Castleford! In between, most of the big names, and lots of small ones too, normally 2 or 3 trips per season. I've got a draw somewhere with all my old lift passes in (it helps me through the long summers!)

Blkimey, I've wanted to do this for years, cos can't rely on my memory!
Approx:
Glenshee (Scotland), La Clusaz, Tignes Les Brevieres x2, Meribel, Zermatt x3, Val D'Isere x2, Courchevel x3, Whistler, Cortina, Verbier, Jackson Hole, St Anton x2, Grindelwald, St Moritz, Argentiere, Kitzbuhel. All these for 1 week or 10 days, then Madonna di Campiglio and some other small Italian resorts in the Dolomites (for weekends), and Obertauern (w/e) and Schladming (w/e). Crickey it makes me feel old...

Glenshee & Cairngorm - too long ago to be any use for info.
Macunaga - ditto
Livigno - ditto
Corvara - ditto
Andorra - ditto
Flaine - ditto LONG GAP - kids etc.
Vaujany ( Alpe D' ) 91
Serre Chevalier - 95-98 (4 times)
Belle Plagne - 99-2004 ( 6 times ). Happy to give info.
When I find a place I like I tend to the 'ain't broken so don't fix it school of thought'. But then I don't need blacks and bumps.
Also lived in Tehran and skied Dizin 95-98 - doubt if it's changed much if anyone needs info.

I'm very impressed with the coverage of resorts most people seem to have... I must do something about this... my list demonstrates that I have a couple of favourites!
Verbier (18 weeks), Val D'Isere (12 weeks), La Plagne, Champany en Vanoise, Courcheval, Saas Fee, Les Carroz, Les Deux Alpes (2 weeks), Flaine, Aviemore (2 weeks), Whistler, Kimberley, Queenstown (NZ).
Chris - I was surprised to see a "down at mouth" face against Verbier... you really must have hit it at a bad time. The resort does have a few issues such as the queueing problems and general condition of runs to the resort, however, there is some awesome skiing - both on and off the piste... could be worth another go?

Catriona,
We had a combination of snow/rain constantly for the first four days and the lift links out of Verbier never opened, and nor did the glacier (which we'd paid the suppliment and Verbier gave us a refund in Verbier vouchers not money - pissed off or what ). So we just had a very limited area to ski in. There were lots of queues and slow lifts and actually not that many runs. Also the walk to/from our chalet was long, steep and slippery (one of our group twisted her knee on the path). It was probably a bit early in my ski career to go there but what I saw put me off for a long time. The same season I went to Alpe d'Huez which was much much better. It's all personal choice I suppose and I'm sure that I was unlucky and would enjoy it more now but I still don't feel inclined to go back.

I'll agree with above posters - I now know why I'm never as good as those experts you see flying past you on the slopes!
Chamonix - 1.5 weeks
Val d'Isere - 2 weeks
Engelberg - 1.5 days!
Verbier - 0.5 weeks
Lecht - 2 days (yes, they were the 2 days it was open that year)!
Cairngorm - 1 day (pretty much ditto)!!
Courchevel - 1 week
The biggest thing that worries me now is that my rate of improvement will just slow down continually now. It took me four weeks to get comfortable on blacks/moguls and now it's going to take another four weeks for me to learn how to start doing tricks!
