Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Nick Zotov, for my destination, flights to Geneva were £120+. To get from Geneva to Courchevel without taking all day about it, it would have cost £80-£100 return by minibus transfer. It would also cost me to get to and from Luton or Gatwick, whereas a departure from Waterloo is free. If you don't mind wasting a whole day travelling then flying can be cheaper, but if speed of arrival is important then, for many resorts, the train works out no more expensive than flying and getting a private transfer.

As you say, the factors are different for each resort but I would have thought that most people going to the big French resorts could be better off using the train but just don't realise it.

I now just need to check out the links to Austria and Switzerland as there are so many resorts there that i want to visit...

Tony Lane, yes, different circumstances. Getting on at Waterloo most definitely is not free for me Very Happy The convenience of Swiss rail travel has been quite a factor in my choice of skiing destinations lately . Bit surpirised at £120+ air fares to Genva though. I guess it depends on how early you book. But again, Stanstead is a lot more convenient for me than Gatwick/Heathrow. Maybe not for you.

Nadenoodlee, I thought it might be black! Very Happy I've just been to Walgreens (cheap version of Boots) and they had a basket full of 'bands' in all different colour, including tie-dye, saying stuff such as "smile", "peace", "best friends", etc - the best friends one was pink, and a lot like the breast cancer one. My boss has a brown "band' from her University, so it seems like everyone is joining in.
