Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Here's one from Tuesday. Very Happy

I always keep a seasonally-adjusted one of these as my Windows desktop. This was the first morning that warranted an update from the summer image. Toofy Grin

We picked up a chatel piste map from the Metro ski show. (but it has the PdS map on the reverse)

The lift from Les Crosets to Pointe de l'Au IS NOT ON THE MAP. I don't think this can be taken in any way as good news.

doctor_eeyore, it's still showing on the official map on avoriaz.com if that helps ease your mind? (although they might not have updated it!)

doctor_eeyore, my understanding is that the old chairlift was inspected and found not only that the foundations were unsafe but that the bedrock was no longer able to support a lift. Add in the various cross commune/cantonal financial arguments that I hear have been going on for years and no replacement due.

Just means that you have to take the newish runs down from Mossettes if you want to do the circuit that way. Never found the snow down from Pointe de l'Au into Crosets that inspiring anyway.

I have skied Chatel for a decade, there will be plenty of snow at January. If you want even more snow head out of the Pre La Joux bowl
and over to Avoriaz where the base is typically deeper. If you are an intermediate skier (or above) dont ski Super Chatel as its fairly tame
with a lot of button lifts.

HTH.

We bumped into snowandtrek in the cloud and the snow. We did a little circuit, skins on, ski down, skins on, ski down, skins on back to car. All around Le Ranfolly. We took a little video.

There is a map here for those interested.
