Mines Niseko, Japan. My tracks are covered up now as it has been snowing non-stop for the past 6 days. I experienced my first (and not last) "White Room".

Just had a play, excellent work fishslice, here's my .kmz if anyone is interested.
This is one day on Skiwelt - started in Elmmau, headed over to Brixen, towards Soll but didn't get enough time to get all the way there and back to Ellmau. I may not have the whole day as I stopped the Garmin (Forerunner 305) over lunch and probably didn't start it again! http://www.chuffnuts.com/pistemaps/KMZ/RunSaturday_301209_083135.kmz (if anyone is wondering what the RunSaturday is in the filename, RunSaturday is a free online training log, which takes GPS files, I mainly use it for running and cycling).
If anyone is looking for a reasonably small/cheap GPS to use, you could look at Ebay for a second hand Garmin Forerunner (the 201 would probably be the cheapest now), or Decathlon what looks like a re-badged Garmin called a Geonaute.

@hammerite : You're more than welcome. I started this little project about 2yrs ago now and I still get a buzz that people are using it besides me I keep tweaking it and adding stuff. Next big thing to add is the ability to cope with losing a GPS signal when you get into a gondola at the bottom of the lift and regaining the signal when you get out at the top. It works best right now when you stay on chairs and don't lose the gps signal and I'm trying to fix that.

I can't remember my GPS losing it's signal when I got into a gondola, but then I think I also pressed stop as I knew it was going to be sometime before we got back up top.
I think Garmin need to develop a dumbass alarm to remind me to press start again when I start moving after lunch! I suppose I could use the auto pause function, but I think it ends up leading to a false reading if it stops every time I get knackered and take a short rest at the side of the piste.

You can try to put it into auto pause when you loose the signal and you're going uphill, i think sportypal works somehow like this because it automatically draws the lines in different color when i'm using the Gondola or the chairlifts for going up.

Thanks WayneC,
I'm just about to release a new version which updates a lot of the code, *SHOULD* fix the gps speed issue from bad locks and also adds total vertical m both on lifts, runs, daily totals and overal total etc so that should be going live in the next few days. I've limited instantaneous acceleration from the previous acceleration to the new of 9.7m/s/s which seems to be the magic number for removing silly speeds from bad gps locks, but enough to leave actual speeds intact.
Heres my recent trip to ValT and the 3V in KMZ which shows the new system : http://www.chuffnuts.com/pistemaps/KMZ/Si-ValT-2010.kmz
I'm also starting to use the OpenStreetMap plugin rather than the google maps one as the OSM one shows lifts. Also I want the results page to give you a printable report (to PDF or printer) summary as well as a KMZ download, so I'm looking at using google graphs for some of that but all that is still in the works.

Just to let all the regular users know that I've updated the system to v1.1 of the processor.
This adds vertical metres per run, per day and overall totals, and
adds even better bad lock detecting code to try and remove the dodgy highest speeds.
This will only apply to GPX files uploaded now and won't change any existing KMZ files.
Please let me know of any bugs you find and any missing features you would like to see.
There were some issues with the OpenStreetMap API calls so I've held that back until the next update for now.

Hi fishslice,
Your app doesn't seem to be working atm... Have you retired? Can we get a copy of your program? (Just to keep for posterity) (and even an earlier version)...
But perhaps you're away skiing?
