Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Found a load of instructional videos from an Austrian guy , Harald Harb, who is now based in the States.

Get the impression that he mostly knows what he's talking about.... Very Happy

Sleipnir, He is not an Austrian Guy. HH was born in Austria alright - but grew up in Canada.

jimmjimm, On that basis around 50% of Melbourne's population are not Australian.

Harb was raised in Canada and raced for them - unless you are claiming he then raced for Austria too i.e. changed his allegiance later? AIUI you cannot race for another country - so to race as a Canadian he was accepted as being a Canadian and had applied to race as a Canadian.

Sleipnir, just watched that and although i like some of what harold harb says in his books that video is complete pants... He seems to be going down the road of trying to reinvent the wheel and trademarking terms... 6 minutes to explain how to do a "brushed carved" turn "two footed releases" bullet proof all mountain short turns.... huhhh????

why not say learn how to do skiddy short parallel turns on an easy piste and that will help your control when on steeper terrain.

Because then people would just kick out the tails of their skis as they do all over the place
in most resorts and never improve,
The two footed release exercise when practised solves fore/aft balance, inner tip ski lead and rotation problems.
It's difficult to do correctly. Try it.

jimmjimm, do em all the time but i just call em what they are... skiddy parellel turns on a flat ski. a good exercise yes but i think HH makes a meal of it is all... i agree about tail pushers and it is a good exercise to help with that.

I like the Stomp It Tutorials channel on YouTube, something for those that are interested in hitting the park. Good variety of skill level, although not sure I'll be attempting the 1260 double cork any time soon!

Having not seen this old thread I had a go at introducing a ranking for useful online vids last year ( http://snowheads.com/ski-forum/viewtopic.php?p=2836471&highlight=videos#2836471 ), but in honesty I now tend to find almost all technique queries I have can be answered by these three guys:

Warren Smith: https://www.youtube.com/user/TheSkiAcademy
