sorry for my ignorance, but who is ssh ? The book is authored by Steven Hultquist but I've never heard of him, why would I want a book signed by someone I'd never heard of ?

masmith, good point. ssh is Steve Hultquist. He came over from the US to attend last years EoSB and assist with instruction. Cant tell you to much about his credential as an instructor, but he is a top man. I suspect many of those bidding have met him.

If I recall correctly his instruction technique was described as "Zen" at the EoSB....I never had the pleasure of a session with ssh but I'd certainly hope to book one if he pops back across the pond again soon. A really top bloke to share an appartment with!

He is indeed a top man, and FWIW I learned lots in the lessons I had with him at the eosb.. Bidding would be worth it for the 'golden ticket' alone

No worries. 'Course, that's "Stephen" with a "ph", not a "v".
I've been on snowHeads off and on since very early in its life. I became a mod here when there weren't very many, and my position here across the pond was useful to admin. He's since got a pile of 'em that seem to never sleep, so my timezone is less advantageous.
We had a bit of fun at the EoSB, though, and a few stories from that adventure may have made their way into the book. I'm a nearly life-long skier, PSIA certified Level II instructor (I play at instructing for fun, as I'm sure those who skied with me at Val Thorens can attest!), and this book expresses my thinking that life teaches us a lot about skiing... and skiing teaches us a lot about life.
This auction is strictly to benefit snowHeads as a thank you to all the wonderful I've gotten to know and the care with which they treated me as I tried to figure out how to get by in Val T.
Besides, if Martin and Weems both like it, there must be something there...

BTW, yes, 4 of the 5 current top bidders skied with me at Val T. I don't think I've met TimDog. 'Course, he may prove me wrong by reminding me otherwise!

Who knows?
I would love to get to the MSB. However, it will all depend on how the business efforts go. So, I'll have to defer the real answer for a while. If not this year, perhaps next year. But, one of these times I'm going to make an MSB!
