Snow Reports

Help!!
Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better!
Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

A snowHead
Hey - it was a girl who hadn't skied in about 8 yrs who took me on my first ever black after 8 days skiing. I think that it was more of a revenge thing for me being very drunk and waking her up when I came back at 3am. Lets say that I didn't show much evidence of stylish skiing hehehe.

, But I've never seen one of these doing proper parallel turns (using the edges, keeping their bodies in a correct position etc) - they're just pushing the skis round parallel - not the same thing. Pub boasting is just another way of saying "I'm not much of a skier". Anyone who feels the need to boast probably can't really do it.
Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

Woohoo! I can parallel ski now (most of the time, althought not if tired/hungover/in a slightly spacky mood) and go down red runs and everything! The private lesson from Evolution 2 really helped - would have been slightly better if she'd taken us down some runs rather than just helped us with technique on the nursery slopes, but getting the bubble up etc would have eaten dramatically into the two hours we had with the lovely Katie. Anyway, it was a great weekend, you can read my blog about it here it you like:

, really glad to hear about your good experience. A good lesson can make a dramatic difference. Well done!
Anyway, snowHeads is much more fun if you do.

, The easy slopes are where you learn your technique to transfer to steep slopes - you can't learn on steep slopes as there's too much anxiety involved. May be she would have taken you down if you'd had another or a longer lesson? I wouldn't do it with only one lesson - always too much to fix. BTW I teach even types like
Kramer
on our green learning slope!
