Poster: A snowHead

PG, Morzine and Avoriaz are taking the proverbial. I've been back for 4 days and Avoriaz had shut at least 4 runs (red and black) while Morzine was in a worse state .... unless they found the ability to move snow around large areas in last few days ,

Newbie50, it does happen - some runs were closed through avalanche danger in Les Arcs over the weekend, reopening today. Still, it'll be interesting to see how things evolve over the next few days, if the rain comes (already some heavy showers in the Tarentaise this morning to 2500m).

Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

CP, they include Combloux in the 'linked' domain. Haven't worked it out but I don't think they've added in Les Contamines!

PG, There looks like some hope for all the resorts -- raining incessantly down here since last night but temps have dropped by about 6 degrees during this morning but may of course be local ... feel sorry for Isola et al ( for the 1st time) ..

Anyway, snowHeads is much more fun if you do.

PG, I thought it looked strange, Combloux would explain some of the 158 and maybe St Gervais is included as well!! I am used to the snow depths being reported optimistically in resort reports but have never seen the number of runs quite so exaggerated.
Anyway it's not important.
Cheers

CP, there would be no reason not to include St Gervais: both have access to the Mt d'Arbois / Mt Joux / Mt Joly massif and, via the Rocharbois cable car, Rochebrune / Côte 2000. On the other side of Megève, Jaillet / Christomet is linked to Combloux and (new this season) to Le Plan / Le Giettaz. Of course, I've not counted the pistes, but 158 seems as good a number as any.
