Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better!
Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Outside school holidays, when I look round the piste I would estimate the majority of skiers are over 40, a substantial proportion of those over 50 and quite a lot over 60. As one poster said, skiing is popular with babyboomers with some time on their hands and a bit of money. My 50th birthday present was a 'learn to ski in a day' voucher at the local snow dome. I never came close to learning to ski that day but was hooked. Still learning. goodluck with your project.

My husband and I learned at 54 and 46 respectively. It has taken over our lives. We ski between five and six weeks per year. My husband says he can't believe he could find something at this stage of his life that he likes so much. Also, learning late means you are still improving rather that doing something you have done to a high standard at an earlier point and then being frustrated at what you can't do as well anymore.

Luckily, as the age increases, so does the technology, which seems to more than balance things out.
Anyway, snowHeads is much more fun if you do.
